Komische
OpAR & BE Backstage App

I used a DSLR to photograph objects and locations, including props, armored wheels and magnificent opera halls. The photos were edited and processed with RealityCapture and Lidar scans to create 3D models that were optimized for AR applications.

This project was realized during my time as a working student at my former employer Headraft. These apps were the result of our teamwork:

My fascination with the possibilities of my scans led to the private creation of the still for the thumbnail and a short animation. These combine a creative play with proportions and gravity and emphasize the unmistakable look of the scanned point clouds.

Using a DSLR, I photographed a variety of different objects and locations - from props such as chocolates and rubber dinosaurs, armored wheels and the tin drum to the magnificent halls of the Komische Oper and the Berliner Ensemble. Particularly detailed elements, such as the ornately decorated tiers of the halls, were also captured using Lidar scans. Lastly, I optimized all the models and made them ready for use in AR applications.

A thumbnail still and a short animation were created privately out of my fascination for the scans. They play with proportions and gravity and emphasize the look of the scanned point clouds.
